How to work your EDC27 UHi. The video shows the earlier EDC27, and the controls are the same.
A full-power tactical light at half the thickness, so it rides flat in a pocket and draws as fast as it hides away.

Two UHi 20 LEDs and a TIR optic put out 3,100 lumens on Turbo, throwing a clean beam to 305 metres at 23,500 candela. That is enough to light a stairwell, sweep a car park or pick out a figure at the end of a lane, from a light this slim.
Step down through High, Mid and Low for everyday tasks, where 65-lumen Low still runs for 14 hours and reaches 50 metres, so one light covers the close work and the long look.

The multifunctional OLED screen reads out the brightness level, battery voltage, runtime remaining, temperature and a power-remaining bar in real time. You know whether you have ten minutes or ten hours before a shift or a call-out, rather than guessing.
For an EMT or a security carry, that is the difference between a light you hope will last and one you know will.

The two tail buttons sit at different heights, so your thumb finds the right one by feel in the dark. Half-press and hold the MODE button for instant Turbo or Strobe Ready, full-press for the rest, all by feel and on the same grip.
Navigate on a low level, then press and hold for maximum brightness only as long as you hold it, which keeps a momentary burst on tap for a quick reaction.

Set the level you want before the light is even on, so it comes up at exactly the right output the moment you need it. A low glow to read a label up close and easy on the eyes, or full power the instant a situation calls for it, with no scrolling through modes to get there.

Semi Lock disables the power button while leaving direct access to Turbo and Strobe through the MODE button, ready for a fast reaction. Full Lock disables both buttons for storage or carry.
Either way, 3,100 lumens never fires by accident in a pocket or a bag, which keeps the battery full and the head cool until you draw it.

If the light comes on near an obstruction on High, Turbo or Strobe, the sensor automatically lowers the output to keep heat in check. A stray activation against a jacket lining or the inside of a bag stays cool rather than scorching.

The built-in 1,700mAh cell runs 55 hours on Ultralow and 14 hours on Low, so it keeps going through a long night on a single charge. When it does run down, the USB-C port and Quick Charge take it from flat to full in 1h 15min from a wall plug, a laptop or a power bank.
That is less time on charge and more time ready to carry, with no cells to source and nothing to swap in the field.

Advanced Power Cut-Off (APC) technology holds standby drain so low that the EDC27 UHi stays ready for up to 365 days between charges. Leave it locked in a kit bag or a glovebox and it is still there with charge in hand when a call comes in.
A highly efficient constant-current circuit drives the LEDs with a flicker-free, Non-PWM output, so the beam stays steady and even. That keeps the light easy on the eyes through a long shift or a close inspection.

At 22.2mm across the body and a 12.8mm slim edge, the EDC27 UHi is about half the width of a typical cylindrical compact light. The flat profile slides in and out of a pocket cleanly instead of printing through the fabric, and sits flush in a sleeve or a kit pouch.
In the hand it handles like a blade in a hammerfist grip, so a discreet carry becomes a fast, sure draw.

Front and rear stainless-steel shells fuse to a high-strength carbon-fibre composite frame, secured by six sets of connector bolts, for a body that resists compression, twisting and bending. A PVD titanium coating shrugs off scratches and fingerprints.
A semi-embedded aluminium heat plate runs almost the full length of the body to pull warmth away from the LEDs and hold output steady when you push it.

A stainless-steel clip holds the light low and discreet on a pocket edge, while a thoughtful finger groove guards against a stray press as it goes in. A large lanyard hole takes 4mm 550 paracord, and the clip detaches if you would rather run it bare.

An IP54 rating keeps dust and splashing rain out, so a wet shift or a sudden downpour is a non-event. A 1-metre impact rating means a drop off a tailgate or a belt is shrugged off rather than a worry.
A 12.8mm slim edge against the 25mm of a typical compact light, so full power carries flat in a pocket instead of bulging out.
The OLED display shows output and remaining power, so you are not caught short on a shift. Most compact lights leave you guessing.
M-Turbo dual-stage buttons give instant Turbo or Strobe by feel, where a single side switch makes you cycle to get there.
USB-C tops it up in 1h 15min and a deep-carry steel clip keeps it discreet, so it is always ready and out of the way.
A slim light that rides in a uniform pocket, with instant Turbo and a runtime display for a call-out at any hour.
3,100 lumens for a stairwell or car park and a 305m throw for a perimeter glance, drawn fast from a flat carry.
Deep-carry clip and lockout keep it discreet and safe in a pocket, with 14 hours on Low for daily tasks.
A plug-and-play USB-C light for close-range work, simple to charge anywhere and tough enough for the job site.

Yes. The 1,700mAh cell is built in and tops up through the USB-C port to full in about 1 hour 15 minutes, so there is nothing to source or swap. Advanced Power Cut-Off technology keeps standby drain low enough for up to 365 days of ready standby, so it holds its charge between call-outs.
It is rated IP54 against dust and splashing rain, so a wet shift is fine, and it is rated to a 1-metre impact. It is not sealed for submersion, so avoid dunking it underwater.
Two lockout modes handle that. Semi Lock disables the power button but keeps Turbo and Strobe on the MODE button for a fast reaction, while Full Lock disables both buttons for storage or carry.
