One flashlight that switches from a 500-metre search beam to a wide work light to a soft trail light, with a single button.

The NiteLab M515S array packs 20 cores behind one lens, so the EX7 reshapes its beam to the task instead of you carrying three lights.

  • 6,000 lumens at the top, reaching up to 500 metres on Spotlight
  • Three beam patterns: Spotlight, Floodlight and Mixed, switched mid-task
  • A single side button runs the whole light, worked one-handed and with gloves on
  • Includes a NITECORE NL2155HP 5500mAh 21700 battery
  • 570 hours on Ultralow, enough to leave it ticking over for weeks
  • USB-C charging from the same cable as your phone
  • Magnetic tail holds the 140g body on steel for hands-free light
  • IP68 rated, submersible to 2 metres, and 2-metre impact resistant
  • Aero grade aluminium body with HA III hard-anodized finish

Nitecore EX7 - Spotlight, Floodlight and Mixed beam patterns in the field - Nitecore Singapore

Three beams, one button, chosen to match what you are doing.

SPOTLIGHT FOR DISTANCE. The focused beam reaches up to 500 metres at 63,470 candela, enough to pick out a trail marker, a ridge line or a figure across a field. It is the beam search and rescue teams reach for when they need to cover ground fast.

FLOODLIGHT FOR THE AREA AROUND YOU. A wide, even wash of light fills your whole field of view, which suits campsite setup, a vehicle repair or picking your way across a boulder field where you need to see feet and hands at once.

MIXED LIGHT FOR EVERYTHING ELSE. A central hotspot with peripheral flood handles trail running, general hiking and around-camp jobs on one setting. Press and hold the side button to cycle the three patterns, and the EX7 remembers your choice for next time.

Everything runs off that one side button, sized for easy one-handed operation, so you can change brightness, swap beam pattern or fire the strobe while the other hand stays on a rope, a tool or a steering wheel. The raised button is easy to find by feel with gloves on.

Nitecore EX7 - 6000 lumens and 500 metre throw with stable runtime curve - Nitecore Singapore

6,000 lumens that holds its output, not a brief flash and fade.

At full tilt the EX7 puts out 6,000 lumens and throws to 500 metres, but the part that matters on a long night is how steady it stays. A constant-current circuit paired with the multi-core thermal design keeps the beam level rather than dropping off the moment the head warms up.

Step down to where you actually live and the numbers get generous. High runs 600 lumens for 5 hours 30 minutes, Mid gives 180 lumens for 15 hours, and Low sips along at 30 lumens for 80 hours. That is two nights of regular camp use with light to spare from a single charge.

WHAT THE EX7 GIVES YOU OVER A SINGLE-LED FLASHLIGHT

Three beams in one head

Spotlight, Floodlight and Mixed from the same lens, where most lights lock you into a single beam shape and one job.

Steadier output

Twenty smaller cores share the heat instead of pushing one core to its limit, so the beam holds its level on a long task.

Built to get wet and get dropped

IP68 sealing handles river crossings and a dunk to 2 metres, and the 2-metre impact rating covers a fall from standing height.

One-button simplicity

A short press cycles brightness, a long press changes beam pattern, a quick triple press fires the strobe. No click codes to memorise.

Nitecore EX7 - M515S 20-core X-shaped LED array - Nitecore Singapore

The M515S array: 20 cores doing the work of one.

NiteLab built the M515S as an X-shaped array, with one high-density central core for long throw surrounded by four high-efficiency cores for flood. Spreading the load across 20 cores lets the EX7 reshape its beam between spot and flood, and it runs cooler than a single core driven to its limit.

The cores sit closer together than the previous generation, a 0.6mm gap against 0.9mm, which blends their output into one clean beam and smooths the transition as you switch patterns. The result is a denser, more uniform beam spot across all three modes.

Nitecore EX7 - magnetic tail holding the light on metal for hands-free work - Nitecore Singapore

A magnetic tail that frees both hands.

The tail magnet holds the full 140g body on a steel surface, so you can stick the EX7 to a car frame, a trailer hitch, a metal panel or the underside of a bonnet and get on with the job. Field technicians lean on this for engine-bay and electrical work where you need light exactly where your hands are.

A two-way pocket clip comes fitted as well, so the same light rides on a belt, a pocket lip or a pack strap and is ready the moment you need it.

Nitecore EX7 - USB-C charging port with charge indicator - Nitecore Singapore

USB-C charging, the same cable as everything else you carry.

The EX7 charges over a standard USB-C port, so the cable that tops up your phone, your earbuds or your power bank tops up the light too. No proprietary lead to lose before a trip.

The indicator around the side button flashes while charging and stays constant once full, and the same ring reads out your remaining power so you know where you stand before you head out.

Nitecore EX7 - IP68 all-weather aluminium body wet on rock - Nitecore Singapore

Built for the weather you actually go out in.

The body is aero grade aluminium with an HA III hard-anodized finish, the same tough surface treatment that shrugs off knocks and scuffs on a busy belt or in a loaded pack.

IP68 sealing means rain, a river crossing or a drop into a stream is a non-event, with submersion rated to 2 metres. Pair that with the 2-metre impact rating and a fall onto rock from standing height is something the EX7 takes in its stride.

WHO REACHES FOR THE EX7

Nitecore EX7 - one-button control and power indication in hand - Nitecore Singapore
Hikers & Campers

At 140g it adds little to a pack, and Mixed beam covers trail and camp while 80 hours on Low sees out a long backcountry trip.

Field Technicians

The magnetic tail sticks the light to metal so both hands stay free, and Floodlight fills an engine bay or panel evenly.

Search & Rescue

The 500-metre Spotlight and a 6,000-lumen burst help teams scan ground and signal across a valley in a tight window.

Security Patrol

Instant high output and a random-frequency strobe at 16 to 20Hz give a quick, effective deterrent on a night round.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Does the EX7 come with a battery?

Yes. The EX7 ships with a NITECORE NL2155HP 5500mAh 21700 cell, which delivers the full rated runtimes in the table above. Any quality high-drain 21700 also fits, while 18650 cells do not.

How do I lock it so it cannot turn on in a pocket or pack?

Two ways. Loosen the tailcap a quarter turn to cut power mechanically, then tighten to use. Or, with the light off, press and hold the side button until the indicators flash three times for electronic lockout. It unlocks automatically when you charge it or replace the battery.

Will it keep its brightness on a long task?

The top modes, LUMIN SHIELD and Search, are short bursts, and output steps down as the head warms to protect the LEDs. For steady work choose High at 600 lumens for 5 hours 30 minutes, or Mid at 180 lumens for 15 hours, both of which hold a level beam.

Customer photo review of EX7 - 6000 lumens

First time spending $179 on a product I'm not so familiar with. So as a newcomer to these torches, I got to say that its seriously well worth the price. As the saying 'hold power of the sun in your hands' goes, it's quite there at 6000 lumens and testing each of the functions was quite fun. Controls of locking and unlocking also seem very useful for safety, with simple functions to immediate lumin shield/spotlight or strobe light. Changing of light types is also very smooth. Overall, if you're looking for a fun and bright torch with good battery life (check the duration table) this is not a bad choice. I wld recommend this highly, but note to remove the bottom cap and take off the protective sheet on the battery to turn it on. Similarly put it on w electrical tape to store for long-term to prevent the current.

If you're serious about having a quality flashlight that can handle anything you throw at it, the Nitecore EX7 is worth every penny of its roughly $100 price tag. This isn't your basic hardware store flashlight, and it's not trying to be.Let me start this thing is built like a tank. Metal construction throughout, IP68 waterproof rating, and 2-meter impact resistance. I wouldn't hesitate to use this anywhere or in any weather. It feels substantial in hand at 213 grams, and everything about it screams durability. After owning multiple Nitecore flashlights, I've come to trust their build quality, and the EX7 doesn't disappoint. Now let's talk about the light itself, because this is where the EX7 really shines. It offers three spotlight, floodlight, and a mixed beam option. Additionally, there are higher-powered Search (spotlight) and Lumin Shield (floodlight) options. The Search mode puts out 3000 lumens in a tight, focused beam that throws light an incredible distance. I tested it in my woods at night, and it clearly illuminated trees 75 to 100 yards out with enough detail to see individual branches. The Lumin Shield cranks out the full 6000 lumens in a broad pattern that covers a massive area with even light. For comparison, I also tested my Nitecore HC35 headlamp at its maximum 2700 lumen Turbo setting, and the EX7's focused Search beam looked noticeably brighter and reached much farther, even though it's technically only putting out 3000 lumens. That's the benefit of the focused optics. The versatility of having three beam patterns is a game changer. Need to see what's making noise 100 yards away? Use spotlight or Search mode. Working on something up close or walking a trail where you need to see the whole path? Flood lights or Lumin Shield gives you that broad coverage. The mixed beam splits the difference for general use.Beyond the beam patterns, you've got six brightness levels (ultralow, low, mid, high, turbo, Search, and Lumin Shield) and a strobe function all controlled through a single button. I'm you need to read the instructions, probably more than once. There's a lot of functionality packed into that one button, and you'll only find all the modes by knowing the button sequences. Once you learn them though, it's intuitive enough. The practical features are well thought out. USB-C charging directly on the flashlight means no separate charger to keep track of. The battery indicator lights let you know where you stand on charge. The magnetic tailcap is handy for sticking it to metal surfaces when you need hands-free light. The two-way clip works, though I'clipping it to a hat bill is possible but not ideal. The light sticks straight out perpendicular to the brim rather than lying flat, so that 213 grams pulls down more than you'd like. For hands-free use, my HC35 headlamp with its 90-degree articulating head is far more practical. But for a handheld light, the clip works fine on a belt or pocket.Speaking of the HC35, I own both and they serve different purposes. The HC35 is fantastic for hands-free work with its headstrap mount and angled head. But the EX7 is significantly brighter, offers three beam patterns instead of one, and frankly is the better overall value for the money. If I had to choose one, I'd take the EX7. I also previously owned the Nitecore E4K at 4400 lumens, and while that was a solid light, the EX7 outperforms it across the board. Now for the honest limitations I just purchased this flashlight, so I can't speak to long-term durability or real-world battery life yet. Nitecore advertises 2.5 hours on turbo mixed beam and up to 80 hours on low mixed beam. I haven't verified those numbers, but based on my experience with other Nitecore lights, I trust they're accurate. My testing has been under normal everyday conditions - regular temperatures, typical weather, standard handling. I haven't put this through extreme cold, heavy rain, or serious abuse, so I can't comment on performance in harsh conditions, though the IP68 and impact ratings suggest it'll handle them fine.So who should buy this? If you need a serious flashlight for outdoor work, nighttime activities, emergency preparedness, or just want the best tool for the job, and you can afford to spend around $100, absolutely get this. The combination of build quality, brightness, versatility, and features justifies the price. I'm planning to get another one with a cold-weather battery to keep in my truck year-round.Who shouldn't buy this? If you're just looking for something basic to keep in a drawer for occasional use, or if the price gives you pause, there are plenty of cheaper options that will serve you fine. This is a premium tool at a premium price. The Nitecore EX7 is the best flashlight I've owned. It's bright, versatile, well-built, and worth the investment if you value having a quality tool that won't let you down. I genuinely wish my dad was still around because he would have absolutely loved this thing.

EX7 - 6000 lumens

Customer photo review of EX7 - 6000 lumens

The Nitecore EX7 is a do it all flashlight. While the user interface (UI) for changing brightness levels has a minor peculiarity (it defaults to low and turns off if you try to change modes after 3 seconds of inactivity), the core functionality the variable beam makes it incredibly versatile. Whether you're a search-and-rescue professional, an avid camper, or just want the most capable EDC light possible, the EX7's adaptable power and compact size make it a highly competitive and recommended choice. It truly delivers on its promise of being a next level performer. The NEW Nitecore EX7 Flashlight SHOCKED Me! is a short clip showing the light's power and features.

EX7 - 6000 lumens

Metal chassis seems very well built. Feels quality. Haven't used in action yet but seems v powerful torch.

EX7 - 6000 lumens

Excellent quality. It does get very hot when left on for more than a few minutes.

EX7 - 6000 lumens

Beast ! I love this flashlight. I work in maintenance world and its dark everywhere. I have almost every nightcore flashlight. My new favorite is this one. This took the spot of mh12pro due to the magnetic tail cap. The only thing I wish is that the light would turn on at the last lumen and beam setting you were using. Other than that this light is great !!!

EX7 - 6000 lumens

Great as a gift or for yourself. Dependable bright flashlight. Small enough to keep in glovebox, purse or on a nightstand by the bed. Will buy more!

EX7 - 6000 lumens

Actually a good buy during Black friday. Small and compact, not fidgety. Good brightness, though I didn’t like the spotlight/flood format. That little light got bright….its gets warm/hot..but not too uncomfortably hot as say the EDC35 by nitecore. The EDC35 comes with some extras like a nice holster, and lanyard. But the EX7 has that nice magnetic base.

EX7 - 6000 lumens

The single-button control is very convenient. And it is very good that the light beam width can be adjusted. My only complaint is that once a light intensity is selected, one must turn the light off and back on to choose a different brightness level.

EX7 - 6000 lumens

An awesome feature on this torch is the ability to choose what light pattern you want for example mixed or spotlight or flood thanks to the innovative nitelab led light technology from Nitecore.

EX7 - 6000 lumens

Legit flashlight here, plenty of options. Battery and build is impressive. Good job Nitecore.

EX7 - 6000 lumens

quality is superb, variable functionality in brightness from low to high intensity light, very durable and sleek design clip attached so you can attach it to your belt and you dont need a holster. Has strong magnet end for mounting perfect for a mechanics and search unit.

EX7 - 6000 lumens

It gets warm quick, but overall performance is great.

EX7 - 6000 lumens

Everything works perfectly i really genuinely like it everything i have asked it to do it has excelled

EX7 - 6000 lumens

The Nitecore Ex7 is a highly recommended, portable powerhouse, praised for its extremely bright output and exceptional versatility. Its standout feature is the unique, seamless toggle from a focused spot beam to a wide flood beam, making it instantly adaptable for any task. This powerful performance is backed by great battery life, ensuring reliable endurance for extended use.

EX7 - 6000 lumens

The turbo mode can keep quite long. Love the robust metal button on this light.
