BOLTED CONSTRUCTION, METAL-REINFORCED BEZEL - The fibre-reinforced polymer case is bolted together around a metal-reinforced bezel, with Power Glass on the Solar versions and Chemically Strengthened Glass on the AMOLED. Bumping it on a vehicle door or a rifle rack is part of the job description.
TWO GRIDS ON ONE SCREEN - Dual grid coordinates show your position in two formats at once, MGRS alongside latitude and longitude, so you read the same grid the section is using and the one the map is printed in.

Incident detection during select activities, Assistance and LiveTrack send your live location to chosen contacts through your paired phone.

STEALTH MODE - While keeping the watch operational, stealth mode stops storing and sharing your GPS position and disables wireless connectivity and communication. Switch it on before stepping off and the watch itself stays fully operational with nothing broadcasting.
NIGHT VISION MODE - Viewed under NODs or operating in the dark, night vision mode adds controls to dim brightness further and black out the display to reduce detectability.
KILL SWITCH - If security becomes an issue, the kill switch wipes the device of all user memory.
JUMPMASTER, TACTICAL AND RUCKING - Jumpmaster calculates high-altitude release points according to military guidelines and navigates you to the objective after the jump. The Tactical activity shows time, pace, time of day, elevation and your location in both coordinate types. Rucking lets you log pack weight for the route march.
PROJECTED WAYPOINTS AND STAGE TIMER - Set and save remote geo positions to navigate to later. On the range, the stage timer shows the remaining time in your current course of fire.

MONOCHROME MIP, TWO-WINDOW LAYOUT - The 45 mm and 50 mm Solar versions use a monochrome, sunlight-visible, transflective memory-in-pixel (MIP) display at 176 x 176 pixels. It is designed to be read in direct sun, which is exactly what a parade square at 1 pm demands.
POWER GLASS CHARGES THE WATCH - The lens itself harvests light. In smartwatch mode the 45 mm runs up to 28 days and the 50 mm up to 40 days, and both go unlimited with solar at 3 hours a day outside in 50,000 lux conditions.
GPS FOR A WHOLE EXERCISE - GPS Only mode stretches to 130 hours (45 mm) or 260 hours (50 mm) with solar, and Max Battery GPS is unlimited with solar on both. The full mode-by-mode table is below.
COLOUR AMOLED AT 416 x 416 - The 50 mm AMOLED version replaces the two-window MIP layout with a 1.3" (33 mm) colour AMOLED display at 416 x 416 pixels behind Chemically Strengthened Glass. Stats screens, heart-rate graphs and notification previews read in colour, indoors or out, and an ambient light sensor adjusts brightness to the room.
UP TO 24 DAYS, 9 DAYS ALWAYS-ON - In smartwatch mode it runs up to 24 days, or 9 days with the display always on, and up to 30 hours in its most accurate satellite mode. This version charges by cable; solar charging belongs to the two Solar versions.
RED SHIFT FOR THE SMALL HOURS - Red shift mode shifts the display to red tones for night use. It also carries 4 GB of memory to the Solar versions' 128 MB.

MULTI-BAND GPS WITH SATIQ TECHNOLOGY - Multi-band GPS delivers superior positioning while SatIQ optimises battery life by picking the satellite mode the conditions call for. It matters most under jungle canopy and between tall HDB blocks.
ABC SENSORS - A 3-axis compass, barometric altimeter and thermometer run on the wrist. The barometric trend indicator raises a storm alert when the pressure drops fast, and the elevation profile shows the climb still ahead of you.
BREADCRUMB TRAIL, NO MAPS - Instinct carries no maps. Navigation is point-to-point and breadcrumb: follow a loaded course, drop a reference point, use Sight 'N Go to walk a bearing, and TracBack leads you back along the exact line you came in on. The Expedition GPS activity is built for multi-day treks (see the battery table below).

TESTED TO U.S. MILITARY STANDARDS - Garmin tests the Instinct 3 Tactical Edition to U.S. military standards for thermal, shock and water resistance, and rates it 10 ATM for pool sessions, river crossings and monsoon rain.

MORNING REPORT BEFORE THE ALARM CLEARS - Sleep score, HRV status, Body Battery and the day's calendar arrive in one screen when you wake. Training readiness and training status turn that into a plain answer about whether today is a hard day or a recovery day.

Pick Solar if you spend your days outdoors and want the longest battery: the MIP display reads best in direct sun, and the Power Glass lens tops the battery up all day. Pick AMOLED if you spend most of the day indoors and want colour, higher resolution and the always-on face. The tactical features, sensors, water rating and case are the same on all three versions.
Does Garmin Pay work in Singapore?
Yes, with participating Singapore banks. Add an eligible card in the Garmin Connect app and pay by holding the watch to the terminal. Garmin keeps the current list of supported banks and cards at garmin.com/en-SG/garminpay/banks.
Can I swim with it in the pool and the sea?
Yes. The 10 ATM rating covers pool swimming and open-water swimming, and both have their own activity profiles with distance, pace, stroke count, stroke rate and SWOLF. Pool swimming adds stroke type detection, drill logging, rest timers and countdown start, and wrist heart rate keeps reading underwater.

I will admit some of the “tactical” features really aren’t that useful to most. Fee and far between are going to truly get use out of that. With that being said the tactical version just looks cool being all black.What I will say about this watch coming to it from an Apple Watch Ultra is that I will never be going back to apple. This watch functions as a watch not as a tiny phone. Its battery lasts for a month and easily longer if your out in the sun.This watch is a watch that acts as an accessory to your phone and provides added benefits of health monitoring, and other tools.One of my favourite and most used features is the flashlight. It seems gimmicky at first, but you quickly realize a flashlight with an easy tactile button at your wrist is an essential tool in your daily life.I like that I get my notifications at my wrist and can easily read and manage them.The hardest thing with this watch is just learning how to navigate on it. This comes with time and a little getting used to but once again I kinda like that it is this way. The button navigation makes it feel like a watch and not a small phone which is entirely what I want.

I received this watch as a gift and this thing has been nothing but amazing. It has a ton of features. The Bluetooth works perfectly. The smart notifications are always on point. The only issue that I had which was a pretty bad one I’m allergic to the watchband if you two are also allergic to the watchband if you can provide photo evidence go to Garmin support and they will issue you a free replacement nylon band or half off on any other band is what they offered me hope this helps somebody.
This watch is amazing. Big jump from instinct 1 to instinct 3! The battery is great, the face is great, the GPS is even better. I’m loving the ability to download other setups that people have created. Is a bit pricey, but you get what you for for and it shows! I still haven’t figured out all the functions as there’s way more than I expected.
As quick as possible:- Rugged, you won’t worry about dinging this up- Solar charging works extremely well- Every feature a Garmin has, plus a ballistic calculator, jumpmaster mode, MGRS coordinates with one button- Watch flashlight is underratedSome fixes:- I wish the low light was red instead of green like on other flashlights. Personally, I would prefer a strong red light & a weak white compared to the current strong white light & weak green- SPO2 is not accurate, but that’s not something I use personallyThis is the only smartwatch I would own

I went from Tactix 7 Pro Solar to the Instinct 3 Solar Tac 50mm and am loving its utilitarian nature. For a watch that is $1100 cheaper you get all the same functionality (except for maps) in a package that is substantially lighter and has over twice the battery life. The display is also much easier to see in direct sunlight. Very impressed.

Very pleased with this purchase. Especially with the 12-12 sale. Even at 50mm, the watch is light and comfortable. Dare say the most comfortable I've had for sports activities.
Awesome watch, best one for tracking steps, calories, sleep, and the gps features helped when I needed to find my bearings on a hike. Was instrumental to weight loss and improving physical fitness. I use the Flashlight all the time. You cannot beat the battery life this provides. The glass is durable and fairly scratch resistant, noticed small scratch but I was digging in the sand for a bit. The blackout feature is useful for military members when performing duties.
Upgraded from my solar instinct 2. I love the new features like Rucking, the crisper display and the watch face. The flash light is a nice upgrade as well.
Great watch. I’ve owned all the instinct tactical series. I read the reviews about the battery and I don’t have that issue with mines. The best way to update these watches is by computer. The watches are saying that they have been up to date but they really are not. To make sure you actually get an update is to download garmin express on your computer. The app on the computer will update the watch soon as it’s connected. Once you unplug the watch, the watch will update itself. It’s really simple. Far as the size, I never had an issue and my wrist is small. Plus I’m used to wearing my fenix seven pro and other big garmins. Compared to the rest of the instinct tactical series, not much of a difference besides the screen and a few more apps. Other than that I would recommend “IF” you wanna spend the extra money. Also screen protectors don’t fit for some reason so I used one for my other watches.

Much better than previous I2 models. Solar charging is a major upgrade that works well and I see a big improvement when being outdoors all day. Screen contrast is better along with the backlight at night. Crisp and clear. New watch faces are nice because of the type of numeric digits that are offered and feel they look better. Plenty of other features as well. Simple all black loon with no red or colored accents is a bonus.
I’ve had this watch for about a week now and I love it. I’ve owned many garmin instincts and I just love the all black on this. It is a little pricey and not many features that stand out but for me personally it was worth it and I’m enjoying it. All that matters is if YOU like it.
Compared to the release of the original I3 and the crooked displays, this one was a good release. There really isn’t much to talk about from a feature standpoint, since it’s identical to the I3 with the exception of a green back light and some additional software features related to the tactical series. Overall, I think this is a good watch. One difference that I’m noticing is that the display seems a lot more recessed than previous models so it seems to be better protected.
