HA19 - Multipurpose RGB AA headlamp - Nitecore Singapore

Three colour temperatures and full RGB, running on two AA batteries

Most headlamps give you one shade of white and expect it to suit every job. The HA19 carries warm, neutral and cool white plus red, green and blue, so the light matches the task rather than the other way round.

  • 600 lumens at full output, throwing a useful beam out to 130 metres
  • Three colour temperatures: 3,000K warm at CRI 98, 4,500K neutral at CRI 85, 6,500K cool at CRI 73
  • Red, green and blue light from two dedicated RGB LEDs
  • 90 hours on the 6 lumen ULTRALOW setting
  • Runs on two AA batteries, with two alkaline AA in the box
  • 107g on your head with batteries loaded, 61g before you fit them
  • IP68 rated, submersible to 2 metres and impact resistant to 1 metre

HA19 - three colour temperatures 3000K warm, 4500K neutral, 6500K cool - Nitecore Singapore

Warm, neutral or cool, chosen at the button

Four dual-core MCT LEDs sit behind a unibody faceted lens, and a short press of the MODE button moves between the three whites.

3,000K WARM AT CRI 98 - Colour rendering this accurate is rare in a headlamp. Skin, timber, wiring and paint read true, which matters when you are inspecting work or treating a wound. Warm light also cuts through mist and dust with far less glare bouncing back at you.

4,500K NEUTRAL AT CRI 85 - The setting the lamp starts on, and the one that suits most of a day. Balanced enough for camp chores, trail walking and general work without feeling clinical.

6,500K COOL AT CRI 73 - The brightest, sharpest option. Cool white gives the highest perceived contrast, so it is the setting for scanning distance and picking out detail at range.

HA19 - RGB red green and blue light for the outdoors - Nitecore Singapore

Red, green and blue, each with a job to do

Two RGB LEDs add three more light sources. Hold the MODE button for a second from off and the RGB light comes on, then the Power button cycles through them.

The lamp remembers the RGB colour you used last, so it returns to it the next time rather than making you cycle through again.

HA19 - red light preserves night vision for map reading - Nitecore Singapore

Red for the map and your night vision

Red preserves the night vision you have spent twenty minutes building, so you can read a map or find something in a pack without resetting your eyes. It comes in two levels: 5 lumens runs for 39 hours, and 15 lumens covers closer work.

HA19 - green light for trail markers and observation - Nitecore Singapore

Green for distance and detail

Green is the brightest of the three at 25 lumens and the longest reaching at nine metres. It sits where the eye is most sensitive, which is why it suits picking out a trail marker, a line in the water, or movement at the edge of the treeline.

HA19 - blue light for contrast on the water - Nitecore Singapore

Blue for contrast

Blue makes certain things stand out that white light flattens, which is why it is the one anglers and trackers reach for. It runs at 5 lumens for 13 hours.

HA19 - 600 lumens lighting the trail to 130 metres - Nitecore Singapore

600 lumens when you need the distance

Full output puts 600 lumens and 4,194 candela down the trail, reaching 130 metres. That is enough to check the treeline, find a path across a slope or see what made the noise beyond the tents.

Below it sit MID at 300 lumens for four hours and LOW at 100 lumens for ten and a half, which is where most of a night is actually spent. HIGH steps down after a sustained run to keep heat in check and protect the battery.

Double press the Power button while the lamp is off and it starts at 6 lumen ULTRALOW instead: enough to move around a tent without waking anyone, and 90 hours of it on one set of batteries.

HA19 - TrueVision unibody multi-faceted optical lens with over 94 percent transmission - Nitecore Singapore

A soft, even beam from the TrueVision lens

The four LEDs sit behind a unibody multi-faceted optical lens rather than a plain reflector.

It passes more than 94% of the light the LEDs produce, across a 50.4mm emitting surface, so very little is lost on the way out. The result is a wide, even wash of over 100 degrees of flood rather than a harsh central hotspot with dark edges.

For a headlamp that is exactly what you want: light spread across everything in front of you, soft enough not to blind a companion when you turn to talk, with none of the tunnel vision a tight spot beam gives.

HA19 - runs on two AA or Nitecore NH2400 rechargeable batteries - Nitecore Singapore

Two AA batteries, sourced anywhere

AA is the point. You can buy them in any petrol station, hardware shop or convenience store on the planet, which is exactly what you want on a long trip.

Two alkaline AA come in the box. Rechargeable AA and lithium iron AA both work, and Nitecore recommends its own NH2400 rechargeable AA if you would rather charge than replace.

Do not fit 14500 cells. They share the AA form factor but run at 3.6V or 3.7V instead of 1.5V, and the HA19 is not compatible with them.

HA19 - IP68 rated, 2 metre submersible and 1 metre impact resistant - Nitecore Singapore

Sealed to IP68, submersible to two metres

IP68, 2M SUBMERSIBLE - The top ingress rating in common use, tested here to two metres of submersion. Rain, spray, a river crossing or a dropped lamp in a puddle are all well inside what it is built for.

IMPACT RESISTANT TO 1 METRE - The body is a special PC plastic chosen for impact strength and for holding up in low temperatures, so it stays tough rather than brittle in the cold. At 107g with batteries in, there is not much mass to land hard in the first place.

IF IT MEETS SEAWATER - Take the batteries out straight away, rinse the lamp under running water, then refit them once it has dried completely. Salt is harder on electronics than fresh water, and rinsing early is what saves it.

HA19 - diffusing stuff sack turns the headlamp into a camping lantern - Nitecore Singapore

A lantern when you want one

The diffusing stuff sack in the box slips over the head and spreads the beam into soft, even light.

Hang it from a tent pole or stand it on a table and the same lamp that lit the trail now lights the whole space instead of one spot. It is the difference between a headlamp you take off at camp and one that keeps working after you do.

Off the headband, the included clip presses into place to mount the lamp on a cap peak, a pocket or a belt, so it is not only a head torch.

HA19 - Classic Black and Hunter Green colourways - Nitecore Singapore

Classic Black or Hunter Green

Pick the finish to match how you use it. Classic Black is the timeless one that disappears in a pack. Hunter Green is built for lower visibility outdoors, a quieter colour for hunting, wildlife watching and anywhere you would rather not stand out.

Both are the same headlamp inside, weigh the same 107g with batteries, and carry the full six light sources.

HA19 - dual button interface with power and mode buttons and lockout - Nitecore Singapore

TWO BUTTONS, LEARNED IN A MINUTE

Turn it on

Hold the Power button for one second and the lamp starts in neutral white LOW. Hold either button to switch it off.

Change the white

Short press MODE to move through neutral, warm and cool white. Short press Power to step LOW, MID, HIGH.

Reach the RGB

From off, hold MODE for a second for RGB, then Power cycles red low, red high, green and blue.

Signal for help

Double press MODE at any time for SOS, then Power moves to Beacon and Slow Flashing. Double press MODE to go back.

Lock it before it goes in the pack

From off, hold both buttons for two seconds and the light flashes three times. It cannot switch on until you hold both again, so it will not drain in a bag.

Straight to the lowest setting

From off, double press Power to start at 6 lumen ULTRALOW instead of LOW, for moving around a tent without waking anyone.

The two buttons are deliberately different in shape and feel, so you can tell them apart by touch in the dark or through gloves.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can I run it on 14500 cells since they are AA sized?

No. A 14500 is the same size as an AA but runs at 3.6V or 3.7V rather than 1.5V, and the HA19 is not compatible with them. Stick to 1.5V AA cells: alkaline, lithium iron, rechargeable, or the Nitecore NH2400 that Nitecore recommends.

Which colour temperature should I actually use?

Neutral 4,500K is where the lamp starts and it suits most of a day. Switch to warm 3,000K in mist, dust or falling snow, and for anything where colour accuracy matters, since it renders at CRI 98. Cool 6,500K gives the sharpest contrast, so it is the one for scanning at distance.

I fitted fresh batteries and it still will not switch on. What now?

Check whether it is in Lockout Mode, because the headlamp stays locked through a battery change. Hold both buttons together until the neutral white ULTRALOW comes on and it is unlocked. If a button press makes the light flash once rather than switching on, that flash is the lamp telling you it is locked.
